Palakura (Spinach) Pappu


Ingredients:
1. Toor Dal -- 1 cup
2. Palak - 1/2 bunch
3. Onion - 1 small onion
4. Green chilli - 2
5. Red chilli pd - 1 tsp
6. Salt
7. Oil
8. Garlic - 3 cloves (option)
9. mustard
10. Jerra
11. Urdad dal
12. Tamrind Paste - 1/4 tbsp
13. Turmeric pd
14. Curry leaves
15. Cilantro

Preparation:

1. Wash toor dal in a container and add 2 cups of water, washed and chopped spinach,chopped onions, green chillies and keep in cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles.
2. Keep a pan on stove and add oil.Once oil gets heated add urad dal,mustard,jerra, curry leaves once they start to splitter add chopped garlic.
3. Once garlic turns light brown add cooked dal and to this add turmeric pd, red chilli pd, salt, tamrind paste and let that cook for sometime till all are mixed well.
4. Now garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with hot rice or rotis.....

Note: If u like u can add more onions
if u do not like sourness of tamrind u can add just little.
