Vermicelli (Bombino) Pulihora

hmmmm with vermicelli you can prepare sweet, upma and pulihora and also dosa :)....so for pulihora let us see how the recipe goes.....



Ingredients:

1. Vermicelli - 2 cups
2. Chopped Onions - 1 cup (1 small onion)
3. Chopped carrots - 1/2 cup
4. Green chilli - 2
5. Salt
6. Turmeric pd - 1 tsp
7. Lemon Juice
8. Oil -- 3 tbsp
9. Mustard - 1 tsp
10. Jerra - 1 tsp
11. Urad dal - 1 tbsp
12. Channa dal - 1tbsp
13. green Peas - 1/4 cup
14.Curry leaves
15.Chopped Cilantro


Preparation:

1. Keep a bowl on stove with 4 cups of water
2. Once water is boiled add 2 cups of vermicelli, 1 tsp oil, pinch of turmeric pd, 1 tsp salt and let that cook.(it takes just 1-2 mins to cook)
3. Once u see vermicelli floating on water take some vermicelli from bowl with the help of spoon and press with ur hand and see that they are sof enough.
4. Now drain the water in the vegetable drainner....
5. Keep a pan on the stove and add oil. Once oil gets heated add curry leaves,mustard, jerra, urad dal, channa dal
6.Once they start to splitter add green chill, chopped carrots and saute them till they cook.
7.Now add onions, frozen peas and let that cook for sometime.
6.Add cooked vermicelli (from step 4) and salt to this and mix well for just couple of mins then add lemon juice and remove from stove.
7.Garnish with cilantro and serve with mango pickle...

Note: if u use wider pan then u can cook better.....

Poha (Atukulu/Flattend Rice Upma)

Hmmm you might be wondering what is this Flattend rice upma/Poha.This is very famous and the recipe which is very easy to make and also it tastes yummy..... mouth watering hahaha. Recipe goes here.....

Ingredients:

1. Poha (Use Poha thick)- 100 grams
2. Chopped Onions - 1 cup (1 small onion)
3. Chopped Tomato - 1/2 cup (option)
4. Green chilli - 2
5. Salt
6.Grated Carrots - 1 - 2 cups
7. Turmeric pd - 1 tsp
8. Lemon Juice
9. Oil -- 3 tbsp
10. Mustard - 1 tsp
11. Jerra - 1 tsp
12. Urad dal - 1 tbsp
13. Channa dal - 1tbsp
14. green Peas - 1/4 cup
15.Curry leaves
16.Chopped Cilantro

Preparation:

1. Soak Poha in a bowl of water for about 5 - 10 mins (till they get soften..U can test by pressing with ur hands) .
2. Now remove water from poha by just draining and keep in a separate bowl aside.
3. Keep a pan on the stove and add oil. Once oil gets heated add curry leaves,mustard, jerra, urad dal, channa dal
4.Once they start to splitter add green chill, chopped onion,turmeric pd and saute them till onions are nice light brown n tender.
5.Now add tomatoes, frozen peas and let that cook for sometime.
6.Add grated carrots and saute them till they come together and water from carrots is absorbed.
7.Add poha (from step 2) and salt to this and mix well for just couple of mins(till poha gets warm) then add lemon juice and remove from stove.
8.Garnish with cilantro and serve with mango pickle...

Note: if u like u can add more onions it tastes good...
if u feel soaked poha(from step 2 ) is remaining u can keep in refrigerator and use them in 3-4 days by preparing in the same pattern or little different

Maramaralu (Puffed Rice) Upma

Hmmm you might be wondering what is this puffed rice upma here is the recipe which is very easy to make and also it tastes yummy..... mouth watering.Recipe goes here.....



Ingredients:

1. Puffed rice - 100 grams
2. Chopped Onions - 1 cup (1 small onion)
3. Chopped Tomato - 1/2 cup
4. Green chilli - 2
5. Salt
6. Turmeric pd - 1 tsp
7. Lemon Juice
8. Oil -- 3 tbsp
9. Mustard - 1 tsp
10. Jerra - 1 tsp
11. Urad dal - 1 tbsp
12. Channa dal - 1tbsp
13. green Peas - 1/4 cup
14.Curry leaves
15.Chopped Cilantro


Preparation:

1. Soak puffed rice in a bowl of water for about 5 mins (till they get soften) .
2. Now remove water from puffed rice by pressing with ur two hands and keep in a separate bowl aside.
3. Keep a pan on the stove and add oil. Once oil gets heated add curry leaves,mustard, jerra, urad dal, channa dal
4.Once they start to splitter add green chill, chopped onion,turmeric pd and saute them till onions are nice light brown n tender.
